A camping safari through South Africa and Swaziland - a safari of variety and magnitude. Lively, yet romantic...a sobering experience. With this tour we hope to let you experience the complete spectrum of our land and thereby create a lasting impression of this great country.

Day 1 - Cape Town

Cape Town. One of the most beautiful cities in the world. Explore Chapman's Peak and then it is on to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point, the south-westernmost point of the African continent. The spectacular cliffside scenery will be followed by a penguin colony near Simon's Town. You will also visit the city's famous landmark - Table Mountain.

Day 2 - Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch. The second oldest town in the country and one of its most beautiful; situated in the scenic Winelands. Visit historic wine houses on sprawling estates between rolling vineyards. Overnight in Swellendam at the Bontebok National Park. [BLD]

Day 3 - Oudtshoorn

Oudtshoorn. Today we travel to Oudtshoom, the ostrich capital of the country. At the turn of the century, ostrich feathers became wildly popular and the booming industry led to fine buildings being erected in the area. We visit an ostrich farm for lunch. You also see the impressive Cango Caves - millions of years old and of the biggest stalagmite formations in the world. [B]

Day 4 - Knysna

Knysna. One of the most popular and beautiful towns in the country: a lovely and favourite weekend destination. Explore the famous Knysna Heads and the local curio market. Enjoy a sunset cruise on the lagoon. [BLD]

Day 5 - Tsitsikamma National Park

Tsitsikamma National Park. This is a scenic stretch of incredible natural beauty. Indigenous forest meets the ocean, home to huge marine diversity. Explore the first part of the Otter Trail: one of the country's most taxing, yet stunning hikes. There is also time to see the Storms River Mouth. [BLD]

Day 6 - Addo Elephant National Park

Addo Elephant National Park. We spend the morning in search of the endemic elephants which are found here. Over the Hogsback Mountains on to our campsite in Aliwal North. [BLD]

Day 7 - Lesotho and the Drakensberg

Lesotho and the Drakensberg. Travel around the mountain kingdom of Lesotho and the Drakensberg. The afternoon is spent preparing for the hike that we will undertake the following day. [BLD]

Day 8 - Kwa Zulu-Natal

KwaZulu-Natal. Today, you go on the Natal Tugela Gorge hike, situated in the Drakensberg Mountains: declared a World Heritage site because of their scenic splendour as well as the cultural significance of thousands of San (Bushman) rock paintings. En route we hope to find reminders this proud and nomadic tribe.[BLD]

Day 9 - Kwa Zulu-Natal

KwaZulu-Natal. Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve. This is one of the country's well-known game reserves, especially credited with helping to save the endangered Black Rhino. We camp the night on the shores of the lovely Lake St Lucia - another World Heritage Site. [BLD]

Day 10 - Kwa Zulu-Natal

KwaZulu-Natal - Zulu culture and dancing. The Zulus are one of the country's historic and proud tribes - and an integral part of the country's history. We lunch with members of this noble people. Late afternoon is spent at leisure enjoying the tremendous birdlife of the St Lucia wetlands. [BLD]

Day 11 - Swaziland

Swaziland. The mountain kingdom boasts a tranquil and rustic countryside. We explore Swazi villages and culture and camp in the Malolotja region - one of the country's most picturesque corners. [BLD]

Day 12 to 13 - Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park. This is one of the best game parks in Africa: large, well-managed and sporting an extraordinary number and diversity of wild animals. You will go on extensive game drives in search of the Big Five and the other animals that the park is famous for. [BLD]

Day 14 - Eastern Transvaal

Eastern Transvaal. This is some of most spectacular scenery in South Africa, one visit to God's Window will explain why it is called just that. Camp in Pilgrim's Rest - an old mining town that has been restored to the glory of its heydey - when thousands of people from all over the world were lured by the promise of riches. [BLD]

Day 15 - Kuruman

Kuruman. The day is spent travelling through the country's northern stretches towards Kuruman - the Oasis of the Kalahari, as it is fondly known. This unexpectedly green and lush town contains the biggest fountain in the southern hemisphere. [BD]

Day 16 to 18 - Kalahari

The Kalahari desert. We enter the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, one of the largest protected wilderness areas in Africa. We go on exciting game drives and enjoy lazy siestas. You will see lions and raptors and the desert-dwelling creatures will fascinate all wildlife enthusiasts... In the Kalahari it is only the patient who are rewarded. [BLD], [BLD], [BL]

Day 19 - Augrabies National Park

Augrabies Falls National Park. You will go on extensive game drives to search for rare animal species, like the endangered Black Rhino, Eland, Gemsbok, Klipspringer and other antelope found here. [BLD]

Day 20 - Greater Western Cape

Greater Western Cape. On your way back, you will travel through the scenic West Coast of South Africa. Explore the trails of the Hantamsberg Mountain Range in Namaqualand - a famous region during springtime when all the wildflowers bloom. Camp in Calvinia [BLD]

Day 21 - Cape Town
